MW DOOM

I decided to focus on sonic details with this instrumental. I built everything step by step, and focused on experimenting with different tools and parameters that I hadn't previously modified. As the sequencing came together, I revisited these details, filtering or switching drum sounds, equalizing separate drum tracks, and modifying synths.

It was difficult to create a structure, since I had been focusing on individual sonic elements rather than the overall composition. I only had a few painstakingly crafted loops, and I didn't have a predetermined song form in mind. I think it would have been much easier to block out if I had had some basic lyrics in mind during construction. I will revisit the structure if I come up with some lyrics.

hyphy vs. bachata

Here's a mashup of "Dos Locos" by Monchy & Alexandra and "Yes Sir" by The Pack.  The original inspiration was me thinking that the lyrics "que tontos, que locos" would go well conceptually with a hyphy track.  I hope this bilingual play on words works, but my Spanish is pretty weak so I don't know.  I had to listen to a lot of hyphy songs to find the right one, and in the process I also gained a greater appreciation for the genre.  My appreciation for the genre of Bachata has grown as well - especially the sweet guitar arpeggios.  I hope you all enjoy.

Hello my fellow music fans, this is my first post on this site of my longtime friend Mike and I am exited to post my work and see what peoples' reactions are!

This track was a Romanian language, christian electro-folk pop song made for the people of my mom and dads church on Christmas. When I made it, I had to be careful not to have the snare or clap on the 2 and 4 beat because that would give it too much rhythm --which the more traditional, old-european audience is not used to.  I also threw on the T-Pain effect because:  1) I can only sing well enough for demos, and 2) nobody would notice it or know that all these artists are on a Autotune craze. A few older ladies came up to me and tried to enthusiastically describe how smooth the voice sounded. (I didnt bother to mention it wasnt my real voice).

The song was an attempt to be kind of folk style in the way "ethnic music" is in Romania and also an attempt to bring digital sounds and instruments to an audience that traditionally isnt used to them. I wanted to make a good song people would like, even though nobody is used to liking stuff like this. I wanted them to be shocked, then surprised to find that they undeniably enjoy it. It got a pretty good response from a bunch of people when I performed it live on Christmas day.

My favorite part was recording the lyrics. I recorded the melody of the vocals in one take. I just started recording and sang, with no plan in mind, just letting the instrumental take me wherever. This was one take, first take, and it came out like that. (I don't know how to sing good). After that, I wrote some Romanian lyrics to go with the freestyle english lyrics I did.

Yes Gem.

When I got home last night and I went to upload my gem, I discovered that the internet is down at my house.

Sorry I'm a day late but  it's fixed now. Here is some track I composed and we recorded for the Latest Men of Science Album. This is the part where Eugene has led his followers out into the desert to find the emerald city and finally his followers begin to doubt that his vision is true. This track is his response.

The drums are the most unusual thing on this trackd. It starts with one of the default FruityLoops midi-sounding patches with the Pluggo Fragulator filter put on it. I don't know what exactly the filter does but it makes the drums sound like a continuous glitchy, throbbing rumble sound. I put on the Fruity Blood Overdrive, which is just a hard digital clip that gave it a grating, staticy sound. I mixed some of the dry drums in to preserve the beat.

There's also bass guitar with huge fuzz, and the standard electric guitar and piano and vocals. Tell me if you have any ideas for improving the mix.
